I hope you enjoy it! I don’t know. I really, really liked this book, and I loved Aoi Bungaku’s adaptation of his Run, Melos! novella, but there are times where someone might find Dazai to be just too pessimistic, or fatalistic, or just downright whiny. If you take this to be more of an autobiography than fiction, like, if you put what happens in the books into the context of Dazai’s breathing life, it just really surprises you how someone could be so passive to so much agony and disappointment.

Whatever, read it. I think it is good. I acknowledge that there are some flaws, but it’s still one of my favorites. fuck it dog life’s a risk

i’m really excited to read it. i feel like i HAVE to read it after seeing that passage you posted. it sounds like a great book and something i’m definitely interested in.
